Inaba Residence (Shimoyashiki) 2
The Inaba Residence (Shimoyashiki) was built in 1902 (Meiji 35) as a home for the former feudal lord of Usuki, the Inaba family, to stay when they returned to their hometown after relocating to Tokyo following the abolition of feudal domains. Made with high-quality materials like cedar and cypress, the residence features an elegant entrance with a ceremonial platform and a traditional shoin-style inner room. Its distinguished architectural design has earned it recognition as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
