Yokodake Nature Park 4

Located in the heart of the Kunisaki Peninsula, which flourished with the Rokugō Manzan Buddhist culture, Ota in Kitsuki City is a region known nationwide for its Doburoku Festival. Among the area's natural landmarks, Yokodake stands out as one of the highest peaks. This central mountain of the Kunisaki Peninsula has been transformed into a nature park. At the summit, visitors will find Yokodake-so, an accommodation facility, as well as Kirara-kan, an observatory equipped for professional-level stargazing. Kirara-kan features a 200mm refracting telescope, allowing visitors to observe the ever-changing beauty of the night sky throughout the seasons. Beyond the observatory, the park offers a variety of attractions, including a deer park, a giant slide, a scenic lookout with an athletic area, and a well-equipped outdoor camping site with barbecue facilities. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy an artificial grass tennis court, while adventurers can explore a rare volcanic rock giant boulder trail, where they can experience the untouched, primitive landscape of Yokodake.
